I found Bar Method in 2004 while living in San Francisco for many years. I have always been an avid workout girl doing spinning, running, personal training, kickboxing, yoga, etc....You name it... I did it! Once I discovered Bar Method that all changed. One hour of strength training, core work, stretching, and a ballet bar to fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a dancer... SOLD! Add in great music and the most knowledgable instructors and I gave up all my previous workouts. Come to find that my body loved Bar Method just as much, finally seeing the results I had been working so hard for in only one hour a day. Building long, lean muscles and developing more strength than I ever had with weight lifting. Not to mention the improvement in posture and the positive mind/body connection. My passion became so strong I approached our founder, Burr Leonard, and made it my goal to open a St Louis studio to bring this awesome experience to all of you. The first barre based St Louis studio opened in 2010 in Town & Country, followed by the Brentwood studio in 2012. I am grateful that I found my purpose and get to do what I love everyday. Honored to have you be part of it... so get ready for some tuck tuck SHAKE!!!

When introduced to the Bar Method by Jessica, our studio owner, I was prepared for a challenging and effective workout. What I was not prepared for was how amazing I would start to feel and how quickly it has started to change my body back to what it used to be. For the past ten years I was a professional dancer for various companies throughout the U.S. My background is in ballet, jazz, and musical theater. About four years ago I made the decision to move back to my native hometown here in St. Louis. Although I have enjoyed being back home and teaching dance at the dance studio I grew up at, I have noticed a change in the longer leaner body I was accustom to all those years of dancing.
Since starting the Bar Method my body is feeling stronger, leaner, and more like my “old self”. I find it very satisfying to know that after and hour workout with the Bar Method I have worked on muscle strength, endurance, posture, and flexibility all in one workout! I am privileged to be teaching at the Bar Method here in St. Louis and can not wait to share with you all the amazing benefits this work out has to offer. See you in class soon!

I knew the Bar Method would be an essential part of my life when I began taking classes over three years ago. I had always made exercise a priority in my life…running, yoga, strength training, etc. That all changed when I began taking the Method. The class incorporates both cardio and strength training. The Method training yielded so many positive results that the other exercises did not, including increased energy and flexibility.

We all have a lot to balance in life- work, family, friends, and of course, our health. I am grateful to have found a class that delivers results and provides a foundation for balancing these many pressures. I would love to share The Bar Method experience with you! Let’s hear it for lifted heels, lifted seats, and lifted spirits!!

I discovered Bar Method in New York City before I was pregnant with my daughter. My friend recommended I try a class, and immediately loved how I felt during and after class..2 kids later, I feel longer, leaner, and stronger! The classes become more challenging, and incorporate all aspects of fitness. I can honestly say the Bar Method has changed my life. Teaching Bar Method is a dream come true, and I’m excited to share the experience with all of you. Looking forward to seeing you in class!

I first discovered Bar Method while living in Chicago. I immediately fell in love with the concept. After having my son in 2011 I was anxious to return to the method in St. Louis. I’ve always enjoyed trying different workouts but nothing has ever made me feel like Bar Method does. I look forward to each class and love the benefits my mind and body have recieved after dedicating myself to this method. I feel that Bar Method can help anyone towards achieving their goals and I’m so glad I get to be a part of this experience. Looking forward to seeing you in class!

I found The Bar Method when my family moved to St. Louis in August 2015. I am not a stranger to barre-based workouts and had been a client at various studios when I lived in Colorado, but there was not a Bar Method that was close. My son’s teacher suggested I give it a try when she found out that I enjoyed barre classes. From my very first class I was officially converted!! After doing barre for over four years, I finally had teachers that corrected form errors and helped to get you into the right position to obtain the best results from each exercise, all while being supportive and kind. I saw quicker and better results in my own body in 6 months than I had in all the years of other classes combined.

With physical therapist approved exercises, modifications for injuries, tools to use to get you into your very best form, and a teacher training program that is of the highest caliber, I quickly discovered that The Bar Method is the gold standard of all barre-based workouts. I feel very blessed to be a part of the St. Louis Bar Method family and I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm of this life-changing workout with you in class!

I first heard of the Bar Method while living in California. When I moved back to my hometown of St. Louis, I was so happy to see it was here. Starting Bar Method was one of the best things I‘ve done for myself. It continues to be the most challenging workout I’ve experienced, without taking a toll on my body. My running performance has enhanced and i have rid of the aches my body was feeling from the high impact of running. I‘ve noticed physical improvements in my body & posture, and discovered better discipline with a stronger mind-body connection- that carries over to other aspects of my life. Constantly being online, working as a website designer, Bar Method is a reminder to unplug and reflect. I’m very fortunate that my job allows the freedom in my schedule to pursue my true passions: art, travel, hiking and trail running, and now The Bar Method. I am honored to have this opportunity to work with this amazing staff. All the Students and instructors are so kind and encouraging- it’s hard not to share in the excitement of the Bar... even while in pretzel!

I started the Bar Method over five years ago at the Town & Country Studio. I was immediately hooked. I continued coming to classes, always being challenged, loving how the class flowed between exercises and stretches. I have scoliosis due to my legs being different lengths. Many forms of exercises would irritate me, The Bar Method has been great to cater to various body types, injuries, varying levels of strength and flexibility. Taking class has helped my overall posture, toned every part of my body, lifted my seat, and made my muscles look longer and leaner. Teaching The Bar Method is a gift. I feel honored that I have been given the opportunity to pass on my love for bar. I look forward to helping & challenging all of you to transform your body and be your best self, inside and out.
